Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to ensuring mathematical and scientific computation is accessible to every user, including people with visual, motor, or cognitive disabilities.

Our Inclusive Design Mission

QAiCalculator is dedicated to universal accessibility. We believe essential mathematical tools—from loan repayment estimators to medical and engineering conversions—must be readily accessible to everyone, regardless of physical ability, assistive devices, or cognitive diversity.

1. Standards & WCAG 2.1 Conformance

Adherence to international digital guidelines

We design and build our calculator interface to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Perceivable

Text alternatives for icons, minimum 4.5:1 color contrast ratios, clear form labels, and resizable fonts up to 200% without loss of functionality.

Operable

100% full keyboard navigability (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter), visible focus rings, and no keyboard traps.

Understandable

Predictable calculator inputs, immediate inline validation error messages, and consistent navigation structure across all calculation tools.

Robust

Standard semantic HTML5 (<main>, <section>, <label>) compatible with current and future assistive software.

2. Key Accessibility Features

Built-in engineering enhancements

  • Synchronized Range Sliders & Direct Inputs Every calculator slider is paired with a numeric keyboard input field so users with fine motor tremors or screen readers can directly type values instead of dragging sliders.
  • Tabular Numerals & Anti-Jitter Layouts All dynamically updating calculation outputs use font-variant-numeric: tabular-nums to ensure that moving numbers do not cause layout shifts that trigger vestibular discomfort.
  • Touch Targets & Spacing Interactive buttons, unit toggles, and modal triggers have at least 44x44 pixel target areas with ample breathing room to prevent accidental taps.

3. Assistive Technology Compatibility

Tested screen readers and navigation tools

Our platform is continuously tested with standard modern assistive technologies:

Screen Readers

  • • NVDA (Windows)
  • • JAWS (Windows)
  • • Apple VoiceOver (macOS, iOS)
  • • Google TalkBack (Android)

Alternative Inputs

  • • Voice recognition software (Dragon)
  • • Single-switch / dual-switch hardware
  • • Eye-gaze tracking pointers
  • • High-contrast OS color filters
