Our Cookie Philosophy: Minimal & Private

Unlike ad-heavy platforms that place dozens of tracking beacons on your device, QAiCalculator does not track your browsing behavior across other websites, nor do we correlate calculation parameters to tracking cookies. We prioritize modern, client-side browser storage (localStorage) to save interface settings strictly on your own machine.

1. Understanding Cookies vs. Local Storage

The two technologies powering your browser experience

HTTP Cookies

Small text snippets sent between your browser and our server with web requests. We strictly use cookies for technical essential functions—such as securing our contact form against cross-site forgery (CSRF).

Browser Local Storage

High-speed key-value storage stored locally on your device. Unlike cookies, localStorage is never sent across the internet to our web server. It keeps your unit preferences fast and private.

2. How We Use Browser Local Storage

Fast, local convenience without server transmission

We use localStorage strictly for non-sensitive interface convenience:

  • Unit System Preference (Metric vs. Imperial) When you toggle between Kilograms and Pounds, or Centimeters and Feet/Inches, your choice is preserved in your browser memory so you don't have to switch it on every calculator page.
  • Recently Used Calculators A small list of tool names you frequently visit is maintained client-side to render quick navigation shortcuts.

3. Specific Categories of Cookies

Transparent breakdown of storage classifications

Strictly Necessary / Security Cookies
Essential

Used on interactive forms (such as contact.php) to store an encrypted, randomized CSRF token that protects you and our infrastructure against automated forgery attacks. These expire as soon as you close your browser.

Aggregated Performance & Analytics
Anonymous

High-level aggregated statistics (e.g. overall visits, mobile vs. desktop screen resolutions) to help us troubleshoot responsiveness and optimize page load speeds. These analytics services do not capture calculation numbers or personal identities.

4. How to Clear Cookies & Local Storage
